The Mexican-inspired QSR brand will launch in the UAE before moving on and expanding into additional GCC markets.
Taco Bell is returning to the UAE following a new development agreement between the iconic American quick-service restaurant brand and Americana Restaurants.
The agreement will see Americana Restaurants launch Taco Bell in the UAE before undertaking a phased expansion into additional GCC countries. Opening dates and locations for the first restaurants have not yet been announced, although Dubai will serve as the starting point for the rollout.
The partnership marks Americana Restaurants’ entry into the Mexican-inspired QSR category and expands its long-standing relationship with Taco Bell parent company Yum! Brands. Americana already operates KFC and Pizza Hut across several markets in the Middle East, North Africa and Kazakhstan.
Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Americana Restaurants, said: “Taco Bell is the coolest brand in its category, built for a generation that wants great flavour, great value and a little attitude. Young people in our region are curious and adventurous, so brands should keep surprising them. Dubai adopts what’s bold and tells the world about it. We will start here, get it right and scale Taco Bell across the UAE and the GCC.”
