The company intends to open on East 86th and West 125th Street on Columbus Avenue and the Cross County Center in Yonkers.
Target is a general merchandise retailer with stores in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia The company is undergoing an ambitious metro-area expansion and they have recently signed a lease for a 130,000sq ft location at the Cross County Center in Yonkers, New York. The space was previously occupied by Sears, however they vacated this location last year.
The new Target store means that the Cross County Center is 97 per cent occupied with a number of other retailers already having signed leases for the centre, including H&M, Zara, Ulta and Blink Fitness.
The news comes as a welcome sight for Target given the rapid of number store closures and bankruptcies that other retailers have faced.
