The Target Corp. is adding to its store footprint this fall as it remains on track to build more than 300 stores by 2035.
The discounter is opening a total of eight stores across the nation in October and November. The new outposts are the last of the more than 30 planned stores Target is opening this year.
“Seven of the upcoming eight stores top our 125,000sq ft chain average as we expand our assortment and lean into merchandising authority,” Target said. The retailer is also rolling out a new in-store beauty destination this fall.
The new stores are part of Target’s $5bn capital investment plan for 2026, which is also helping to support more than130 remodels, alongside an investment of hundreds of millions of dollars in additional store payroll and training to improve customer service.
Target said it is also extending its “culture of care” into the communities it serves to support local needs. This includes investing more than 193,000 hours of community service and more than $64.6M in product and cash donations last year in Mississippi, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
“Our continued commitment to opening new stores is really about showing up for our guests and our communities – and it starts with our incredible store team members,” said Chief Stores Officer Adrienne Costanzo. “These new stores give our teams the tools and environments to bring our merchandising strengths to life, create easier and more inspiring shopping experiences and use technology to move smarter and faster every day. It is how we keep growing thoughtfully, stay connected to our communities and make Target an even better place to work and shop.”
