Tashas Founder Plots 20-Site Expansion

Tashas Group is preparing to open 20 NALA restaurants across the GCC over the next five years as the hospitality company looks to turn its relatively new Dubai concept into a scalable regional brand.

The expansion is being supported by an $21.8M commitment from UAE property developer Arada. It represents a significant test of whether Tashas Group can reproduce the appeal of its established restaurants in a more accessible format across multiple locations.

Founded by Natasha Sideris, the group operates several restaurant brands spanning the UAE, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and the UK. Its latest expansion plans centre on NALA, which the company describes as a “fancy canteen” combining informal service with freshly prepared food.

The first NALA opened at Alserkal Avenue in Dubai in January 2025. Two further locations are planned: one at Mall of the Emirates in September and another at First Avenue Mall in Jumeirah in October. Those openings will provide an early indication of whether the concept can work beyond its original arts-district setting and attract customers in busier, more conventional retail locations.

Unlike the group’s more elaborate restaurants, NALA has been designed around dishes that can be produced and served comparatively quickly. Its menu includes breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, pies, pastries and desserts.
