Launched earlier this week, The Manor Amsterdam is the latest property in Leonardo Hotel Group’s impressive global portfolio.
Located in the heart of East Amsterdam-Oost, one of the city’s most vibrant districts, known for its bustling markets, diverse culinary scene and cultural energy, the hotel is set within a striking architectural landmark steeped in history.
Originally opened in 1891 as one of the Netherlands’ most advanced civilian hospitals, the building was designed by renowned architect A.L. van Gendt, also known for the Concertgebouw. The site later served as a district office for marriage ceremonies before being thoughtfully restored and transformed into a hotel, preserving its distinctive character – including original features such as restored staircases – while introducing a contemporary design sensibility.
The Manor Amsterdam features 125 stylish guest rooms, each designed to balance comfort with modern elegance. Guests can choose from five room categories, including Superior King, Superior Twin, Family Room, Triple and Junior Suite. Interiors combine soft cotton bedding, walk-in showers with sustainable amenities from Jean & Len and carefully curated design details inspired by Amsterdam’s creative spirit. Each room also offers a thoughtfully prepared welcome tray, featuring a selection of teas, alongside coffee capsules, sugar and milk.
