Twenty-two years after it debuted in Watford, England, Topgolf will begin construction of its 75th target-golf entertainment centre in Ontario, California.

The new site is located in the western portion of the Inland Empire, about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. It will be a standard three-level Topgolf centre with 102 hitting bays, a bar and restaurant, and a rooftop terrace.

“The energy and excitement for Topgolf in and around the Inland Empire is incredible,” said Topgolf CEO Artie Starrs in a press release announcing the Ontario centre.

Topgolf Ontario is just the company’s third site in California, the others being located in San Jose and Roseville, outside of Sacramento. This spring it will open another “target-oriented golf” centre in El Segundo on the Pacific Coast Highway, south of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The El Segundo location will include a 10-hole green grass golf course.

Callaway Golf became a major investor in Topgolf in 2006 and Dallas-based Topgolf opened its first 102-bay venue six years later in the Houston suburb of Katy.
