The new Toys ‘R’ Us Store will officially open on November 30 at Westfield Garden State Plaza, New Jersey. The store is 6,000 square feet, which is noticeably smaller than the size of previous stores. Tru Kids purchased the intellectual properties of the toy retailer after it filled for bankrupty in 2018 and subsequently closed all of its US stores.
‘With a 70-year heritage, the Toys R Us brand is beloved by kids and families around the world, and continues to play a leading role in the hearts and minds of today’s consumers, we have an incredible opportunity to entirely reimagine the Toys R Us brand in the U.S. and are thrilled to partner with b8ta and key toy vendors to create a new, highly-engaging retail experience designed for kids, families and to better fit within today’s retail environment.’ – Richard Barry, CEO – Tru Kids
b8ta, a company that designs interactive and technology-focused retail locations, will aim to provide kids with hands-on play and opportunities to try the toys for themselves. b8ta has also discreetly added sensors in the store to monitor customer engagement in the various different areas.
