The brand has reopened its Paris flagship following what was an extensive and rigorous eight-month renovation.
Located in the culture-rich Opéra arrondissement, the remodelled, three-floor store retains the exterior façade of the historic building, which was constructed in 1866. The sales floor area has been expanded from 21,526sq ft to 24,380sq ft. In the centre of the ground floor, a grand staircase reminiscent of the entrance to a theatre has been installed, allowing visitors to see across the interior of the store’s three floors.
The expanded sales floor features Uniqlo’s repair and remake service, Re: Uniqlo Studio. Also, and available exclusively at the Paris Opera store, it features an embroidery service featuring a variety of French and Japanese-related motifs that have been created by artists from both countries.
The ground and basement floors of the store include a space dedicated to the retailer’s graphic t-shirt brand “UT”. The line-up will focus primarily on t-shirts featuring motifs from Japan’s traditional and pop culture that are popular in Paris. In addition, as part of the renovation, Uniqlo has added UTme!, a service that allows customers to create their own t-shirts and tote bags with original designs.
Through a partnership with the Paris Opera, Uniqlo will be the official partner for “My First Time at the Opera”, a program that offers families who have never been to the opera or ballet the opportunity to attend a performance at a special reduced rate.
