Vagabond Wines has opened the doors to its highly anticipated Soho site, marking a bold new chapter for the brand’s experiential hospitality concept.
Situated at 14-16 Ganton Street, the 6,000sq ft location is Vagabond’s largest and most ambitious bar to-date.
Backed by the Majestic Wine Group and Fortress Investment Group, the opening underscores Vagabond’s long-term growth strategy to redefine modern hospitality, leveraging the power of its WSET-qualified teams, technology and app-driven experiences to attract a younger, digitally engaged generation of wine lovers.
Vagabond’s newest venue seamlessly blends immersive interior design with its signature self-pour taps. Every corner of the venue tells a story, featuring a staircase lined with traditional riddling racks and a curved central bar with wooden panels that mirror the shape of wine barrels. The bar’s exclusive private dining space, large enough to cater for 40 guests, is surrounded by stainless steel tanks. The striking and flexible layout is designed to cater for all visitor missions, from casual evening drinks and group celebrations, to private corporate bookings and tasting events.
Guests can explore Vagabond’s largest-ever selection of 140 different wines by the glass, including a host of award-winning wines produced just five miles away at its Urban Winery in Canada Water. Vagabond’s latest eclectic vintage – including its Solena, Chardonnay, Dios Mío, Pinot Noir and Night Tripper orange wine – saw it crowned Producer of the Year at the Independent English Wine Awards earlier this month.
Joining Soho’s premium, experience-led hospitality landscape, Vagabond seeks to strip away the intimidation surrounding wine, replacing it with an approachable, social and exploratory environment for visitors to discover and try new wines at their own pace.
Christobell Giles, Managing Director of Vagabond Wines, said: “Soho thrives on breaking rules and pushing boundaries, so it is the perfect home for our new flagship site. I’m so pleased to finally be joining the amazing mix of bars and restaurants in the district and our team can’t wait to introduce thousands of new guests to the Vagabond experience. Ordering wine in central London can often feel like a bit of a non-event, but we want to hand the reins back to the consumer and give them an experience they will remember, every time they visit. Guests can sample more than 140 wines completely at their own pace, step outside their comfort zones and curate their own journey. That can be as simple as a single serve over lunch, or exploring new wines through one of our in-app digital wine flights. We’ve created an amazing space in Soho that really enables that discovery, making wine engaging and enjoyable for everyone.”
