Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc, today announces that global lifestyle brand Vorwerk will open its first UK store on Friday 23rd of November at The Bentall Centre in Kingston-upon-Thames, strengthening an existing line-up of premium home retail brands including West Elm, Zara Home, Oliver Bonas, Sofa Workshop and The Bentalls Department Store (Fenwicks).
Vorwerk is the parent company behind high-performance kitchen appliance, Thermomix®, and market-leading vacuum brand Kobold, and the new store will occupy a 3,041 sq. ft unit on the ground floor of the centre.
The UK store will be the brand’s flagship, and offer customers the exclusive opportunity to see Vorwerk’s innovative products in a highly interactive, experiential space.
For the first time, customers will be able to ‘try before they buy’ in dedicated testing zones. In one, the complete Kobold home cleaning system will be available for test driving on a variety of different floor surfaces, with expert demonstrators and advisors on hand to guide customers through the full range. In another zone, a dedicated Thermomix® demonstrator will showcase the capabilities of the appliance at regular intervals and offer freshly prepared samples such as soups, salads and sorbets for customers to try.
In addition, customers can attend interactive Thermomix® cooking classes. The classes will be held in store and cater to people with all levels of cooking ability, from beginner to advanced, with seasonal classes and events held throughout the year. Classes will be available on a walk in basis and can also be booked in advance. If customers visit the store and are pushed for time, shorter ‘express’ demonstrations will be offered.
With Vorwerk’s product range already well-known in the region thanks to the dedicated London and Surrey sales force, the store is expected to become a hub of activity and a way for locals to stay up-to-date with new products and services from the brand.
