Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest will operate as three separate Harry Potter-themed lands within Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
Miral plans rides exclusively designed for the Abu Dhabi attraction. Detailed ride specifications, capacities and individual attraction formats remain undisclosed.
Combined Harry Potter development will account for most of the approximately 70,000 sqm being added through the wider park expansion. That programme also includes two DC attractions.
Warner Bros. Discovery plans experiences specifically for the Abu Dhabi site rather than relying solely on attractions operating at other Harry Potter destinations.
Simon Robinson, President Global Experiences and Studio Operations at Warner Bros. Discovery, described the three lands as an extension of the company’s long-term investment in location-based entertainment.
Robinson said the project would connect Warner Bros. franchises with visitors through purpose-built environments and exclusive attractions.
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi already houses Warner Bros. Plaza, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch, Cartoon Junction, Gotham City and Metropolis. Current operations include more than 30 rides and family entertainment experiences.
Harry Potter will expand the park beyond its existing animation and DC portfolio. Indoor construction also retains the climate-controlled format used across Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
Miral has targeted 2029 for completion of construction work across Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, linked the project with continued investment across Yas Island and Abu Dhabi’s tourism sector.
Al Mubarak also identified economic diversification and visitor growth among the priorities supporting the development. Miral expects the expanded attraction portfolio to strengthen Yas Island’s ability to draw international leisure traffic.
Kryptonite Collider forms another component of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi’s current investment programme. The Metropolis attraction opened in 2026 and operates as an immersive thrill ride.
Superman Up and Away will add a flying roller coaster to the park. Miral has targeted construction completion for that attraction in 2028.
Combined Harry Potter and DC additions will deliver around 70,000 sqm of new theme park space. Miral expects the programme to increase Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi’s overall size by more than 50 per cent.
Harry Potter alone accounts for approximately 63,000 sqm of that additional capacity.
Park expansion gives Miral substantially more space for rides, themed environments, guest circulation, retail and entertainment operations at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
Yas Island continues to receive capital allocation across major leisure assets as Abu Dhabi expands its international tourism proposition.
Miral is positioning the Harry Potter project as a major addition to Yas Island’s leisure inventory and international visitor offering.
Three separate lands give Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi additional capacity around one entertainment franchise while maintaining differentiated environments inside the park.
Hogwarts provides the central school setting associated with the Harry Potter stories. Diagon Alley brings the franchise’s commercial wizarding district into the development. Forbidden Forest adds a separate environment built around the woodland setting.
Ride numbers, restaurant concepts, retail formats and hourly guest capacities have not been disclosed.
Miral’s 2029 construction target creates a multi-year delivery schedule for approximately 63,000 sqm of themed space. Superman Up and Away carries an earlier 2028 construction target.
Warner Bros. Discovery will continue supporting content and experience development through its Global Experiences division.
Completed Harry Potter lands will sit inside a Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi complex expanded by more than half its current size, adding substantial indoor entertainment capacity to Yas Island.
