Ya Kun Kaya Toast has made a fresh entry into Japan

Breakfast chain Ya Kun Kaya Toast is attempting once again to enter the Japanese market by opening a store in Japan.

The company that specialises in Singapore comfort food items which include kaya toast, mee noodles and local-style tea and coffee, wants to offer its original home menu abroad at a higher price to fall in line with the foreign market.

The store is currently operating under a pre-opening phase, and during this time only drinks are being served. The remainder of the menu is on course to be available next month after a grand opening. Ya Kun Kaya Toast has made one previous attempt to launch in Tokyo, which was eventually phased out many years ago. This new opening highlights a renewed confidence in the potential of the Japanese market as further outlets are likely to follow this one.
