1 Utama launches Korean zone

The first Korean-themed retail zone in Malaysia is being soft launched at 1 Utama Shopping Centre. Located in the mall’s new extension, the four-level, 80,000 sqft “District K” zone is focusing on sports tourism, entertainment and F&B outlets – and will include a performance and hologram theatre, augmented entertainment, and popular Korean restaurant & beauty brands.

The retail zone will be fully completed by the end of the year, with an investment value of RM 120 million (US$29.35 million). ‘With the constant change in consumer expectations and the rise of technology especially in gaming and entertainment offering experiential participation of players, shopping malls have to be agile and adaptive to stay ahead of the curve in this fast-changing landscape’ – said 1 Utama director Tan Sri Teo Chiang Kok.
