The company has opened two new Express-format stores in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, expanding its presence in key urban markets and strengthening its convenience-focused retail offering.
The company inaugurated a new Express store in Riyadh covering around 40,279sq ft, alongside another outlet in Dubai spanning approximately 19,872sq ft. The new locations are intended to improve accessibility for customers by offering quick and convenient shopping options closer to residential and business districts.
Both stores provide a broad selection of everyday essentials, including fresh fruits and vegetables, pantry staples, in-store bakery products, ready-to-consume meals and household goods. The Express format is designed to deliver a streamlined shopping experience for customers seeking fast and efficient access to groceries and daily necessities.
The openings form part of Lulu Retail’s broader expansion strategy across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as the company continues to grow its store network while focusing on convenience, value and consistent product quality.
Founded in 1974, Lulu Retail operates one of the largest retail networks in the GCC, with 275 hypermarkets, Express outlets and mini-markets across the region’s six countries. The group also maintains a growing e-commerce presence through its mobile app, webstore and partner platforms.
Lulu Retail serves more than 680,000 shoppers daily from over 130 nationalities and sources products from 85 countries, supported by sourcing operations in 19 markets worldwide. The company said the expansion of its Express format reflects evolving consumer lifestyles and rising demand for neighbourhood-level retail accessibility in major Gulf cities.
