Malaysian lifestyle brand Bonia has opened a flagship in Kuala Lumpur, introducing a retail concept that blends customer engagement and spatial design.
The store features a colonnade-style facade clad in red brick tiles, referencing traditional street architecture. Inside, the layout is organised into four interconnected rooms centred around a main display point, creating a more immersive and navigable retail experience.
Each space is assigned a distinct function, including areas inspired by a library, dressing room and lounge. Colour is used to define transitions, with red, orange and terracotta tones.
The company said the concept focuses on creating a more interactive retail environment by combining product displays with flexible design elements.
Bonia’s expansion into Indonesia follows earlier international ventures, including its presence in Vietnam, where the company previously exited a joint venture after recording a US$1.3M provision for losses.
