Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, has launched a premium chocolate and sweets brand called ‘QAND’.
The debut of QAND raises the prospect of Sharjah creating the next homegrown UAE consumer craze, following the success of locally inspired Dubai Chocolate, spearheaded by FIX Dessert Chocolatier.
Officials said the luxury chocolate line will be produced using organic ingredients from Sharjah’s “Iktifa” ecosystem and positioned as a global Emirati product reflecting the Emirate’s identity.
Sheikh Sultan said food quality and health must remain central to agricultural development, warning that many illnesses are linked to chemically processed food and additives. Sharjah has increasingly invested in food security, sustainable farming and local manufacturing as Gulf states seek to reduce dependence on imports and strengthen domestic supply chains.
