China’s Vivaia Expands US Footprint

The company is expanding its US presence with two new store openings, as the China-founded brand steps up its offline reach worldwide.

The company opened at Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island this week and another store, at Garden State Plaza in New Jersey, will launch in late May.

Spanning 650sq ft, the Long Island location is designed around ‘wabi-sabi’ principles, a Japanese concept that prioritises minimalism and simplicity. The store incorporates light wood finishes and soft lighting to offer a “calm shopping experience”.

All stores will carry a curated selection of the brand’s footwear, including the Margot Mary Jane, Healing Garden Slingback Heels and Satin Sneakerina.

“The US is our most important market and a key driver of our online growth, so expanding beyond New York is a natural next step,” said Jeff Chan, Co-Founder of Vivaia. “By combining strong digital momentum with physical retail, we’re able to serve more customers and bring our comfort-driven, eco-friendly products closer to them.”

Founded in 2020, Vivaia is known for its comfort-led and sustainably produced footwear. The brand uses recycled materials, including yarns made from PET bottles, alongside 3D knitting technology to reduce waste.
