Brook Taverner Secures New Guildford Store

The British menswear retailer known for its tailoring, shirts and smart casual clothing, has secured a new store at 76 High Street, Guildford, as part of a continued programme of selection expansion across the UK.

The Guildford opening marks the latest step in a period of sustained growth for the brand. In 2025, Brook Taverner opened two new stores in Horsham and Canterbury, both chosen for their strong footfall and communities with a track record of supporting their high streets. A further opening is planned for Ambleside in August, underscoring the brand’s confidence in physical retail as a long-term growth driver.

Brook Taverner reports consistent growth over the past two years, with like-for-like store sales performing strongly alongside a growing online channel. The business operates an omni-channel model in which stores play a central role in customer acquisition and retention, with each location given the autonomy to tailor the in-store experience to its local demographic.

The brand has also observed a shift in customer behaviour, with shoppers becoming more considered in their purchasing decisions and placing greater emphasis on quality, fit and longevity. Brook Taverner reports continued strength in tailoring and occasion wear, driven by weddings and formal events, alongside sustained demand for smart casual clothing as workplace dress codes evolve.

Oliver Campbell, Retail Director at Brook Taverner commented: “We see physical retail very differently to the prevailing narrative. Well-run stores in the right locations remain highly profitable and our customers value service, fit advice and the ability to see and feel the product. The challenges facing the sector have, if anything, created opportunities to secure better locations on better terms and Guildford is a perfect example of that. Having the right advisory partners in place like Clarion, has also been instrumental to executing these opportunities efficiently and with confidence.”
