Boutique hotel investment platform Bohopoa has secured financing from Banco BPI to develop a 22-room Maison Arya hotel in central Porto.
Construction has started at Rua do Bonjardim 690-694 and is expected to complete in December 2027. The value and terms of the financing facility were not disclosed.
Maison Arya Porto will be the brand’s third property following openings in Athens and Brussels. It will also become the third asset in Bohopo’s Porto cluster.
MAADS Advisers supported the transaction and has advised Bohopo on its wider financing strategy in the city.
Portuguese construction company Norasil has been appointed to deliver the project. The contractor has also worked with Bohopo on Mila Porto, which opened in June 2026.
Stavros Pantelides, Director of Acquisitions and Investment Management at Bohopo, said: “The city remains a high-conviction market for us, supported by strong visitor demand, a constrained supply of quality hotels and attractive long-term hospitality fundamentals.”
Pedro Silva Lopes, Director of Structured Finance Tourism at Banco BPI, said the development represented the bank’s second project with Bohopo in Portugal.
Maison Arya is positioned around small-scale, design-led hotels inspired by private European residences. The Porto property will adapt an existing city-centre building as part of Bohopo’s strategy to acquire and reposition underused urban assets.
