Hammerson swings to £266m loss

Hammerson has pledged to focus on slimming down its portfolio as it swung to a significant loss after a year of retail failures put pressure on property values. For the full-year period ending December 31, the shopping centre giant unveiled a loss before tax of £266.7 million, a stark contrast to the pre-tax profit of £413 million at the end of the previous year.
