American fashion brand Abercrombie & Fitch has made its way to the Philippines through a store in the SM Mall of Asia.
The Manila location comes after the brand’s continued expansion into the Asian market, one which has seen a strategic agreement with franchisee Myntra Jabong India Private to expand its footprint in India, an opening in Jakarta, and the opening of three Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister stores in Hong Kong.
The rollout of Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister stores across Southeast Asia is being done in partnership with its exclusive retail partner, MAP Group.
“Such a warm reception from customers at the SM Mall of Asia,” Abercrombie & Fitch’s MD for Apac, Steven Sare, said. “Nothing better than opening day in a beautiful new retail store. Grateful for the support of my coworkers from around the globe.”
Despite the store’s opening, the brand’s website in the Philippines is not yet operational.
This growing presence in Asia saw the brand’s controlling group, Abercrombie & Fitch Co, record US$46.5 million in sales in the Apac region in its fiscal first quarter. This figure led the group as the fastest-growing region, up 24 per cent on the previous year.
