The fast-growing discount grocer has opened its first two stores in the Las Vegas area, with more on the way.
The stores in Henderson and North Las Vegas mark a milestone for Aldi as it aims to open more than 220 new stores this year, with the ultimate goal of opening 800 new locations by the end of 2028.
Aldi will open its third Las Vegas area store on 15 May and a fourth store is expected by year-end. The expansion into Nevada marks the 39th state of operations for the company, which said it will continue expanding in the Southwest with new stores planned for Southern California and Arizona.
“Shoppers shouldn’t have to compromise on quality to save money and at Aldi, they don’t have to. We’ve built our reputation on delivering real value without cutting corners,” said Jason Hart, CEO of Aldi. “With 25 per cent of US households and counting trusting our products and low prices, we’re growing rapidly from coast-to-coast. Opening stores in Las Vegas gives us the opportunity for continued growth in this exciting market and allows us to bring an affordable and fun grocery experience to shoppers nationwide.”
