Amazon to launch new grocery store format

Amazon have confirmed that it will launch its ‘first grocery store’ in California in 2020 as it continues to push into space of more physical retail. The new format will be separate from its Amazon Go , Amazon 4 Star and also its Whole Food Stores.

The actual format of the new store is not confirmed at the moment, however it is understood that it will be located in the former Toys R Us location in Woodland Hills – Los Angeles, California. The retailer are expanding their operations even further, it would appear, as they plan to build a new $40m facility.

Amazon have also promised to become carbon neutral and have invested in renewable energy projects, as they look to help play their part in the ongoing climate crisis, which caused some retailers to lose money amid climate change protests in London.
