Bangkok-Based Coffee Startup Ve/la Expands

The coffee brand Ve/la will enter Singapore with a new café at Changi Airport Terminal 1, marking its first airport location and third market.

The store, set to open in late summer, will be located landside near Jewel Changi Airport, allowing access for both travellers and local customers. It will also operate 24 hours a day, making the brand’s first round-the-clock format.

Founder Pete Kasidit Prasitrattanaporn said Singapore was a natural next step following the brand’s overseas debut in London, citing its proximity to Thailand and reputation for operational excellence. “At a certain point, it became clear that there was a strong fit in what we were trying to build together,” he said. “We choose our locations carefully. This one was a no-brainer.”

The cafe concept has been designed to contrast with Changi Airport’s high-traffic environment, featuring a more restrained, calm interior with natural materials and soft finishes. The menu will follow Ve/la’s streamlined format centred on specialty coffee, matcha and tea, alongside a Singapore-exclusive Kaya Toast Latte inspired by local flavours.

The expansion underscores Ve/la’s continued international growth strategy, focusing on strategic locations and consistent brand experience across markets.
