BIG CEE, a subsidiary of BIG Shopping Centers, has announced a significant €100M financing agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to fuel its expansion across the Balkans.
The investment aims to bolster the company’s presence in Serbia, focusing on both new developments and the refinancing of existing properties. The funding will facilitate the construction of three new retail parks in the Serbian cities of Čačak, Šabac and Bor.
Furthermore, a portion of the financing will be dedicated to refinancing the company’s established retail centers in Rakovica and Pančevo, ensuring the continued quality and sustainability of these locations. With this strategic expansion, BIG CEE is looking to create dynamic, high-quality retail environments that enhance shopping, dining and entertainment experiences, according to a LinkedIn post.
