Birds Bakery are to open a new store in Chellaston in Derby.
Salloway Property Consultants brokered the deal which will see the bakery move into a site adjacent to the Central England Co-operative’s supermarket at the junction of High Street and Swarkestone Road.
Stephen Salloway, Managing Director of Salloway Property Consultants, said: “We know that the people of Chellaston were very excited when rumours first surfaced about Birds moving into this site a year ago.
“Therefore, we have been really pleased to work with the building’s owners, Clowes Developments, to get the deal over the line.
“I am sure the store will be a great success and I look forward to nipping in for one of Birds famous cakes.”
Mike Holling, Head of New Business Development at Birds Bakery, said: “We are very pleased that we have secured the deal to open in the unit adjacent to the Chellaston Co-op Store.
“We are aiming to be open before Easter and the shop will be in line with our latest shop-fits.
“Birds have received numerous requests from customers to open a store in Chellaston and we are pleased that soon we will become part of the local community. We are also very pleased that we worked with one of Derby’s well-known property consultants, Salloway’s, and thank them for their assistance with this project.”
