The company has expanded its retail presence in Japan with the opening of a new flagship store in Osaka’s Shinsaibashi district.
The store, spanning two levels, follows previous concept store launches in Harajuku, Shinjuku and Nagoya and brings the brand’s total number of permanent, directly operated stores in Japan to 12.
The Shinsaibashi location is positioned among the brand’s largest street-level retail spaces in the country and is designed around a stripped-back interior concept that foregrounds product and materials.
The store features a predominantly white palette, contrasted with earthen wall finishes, alongside design cues referencing cork and Birkenstock’s signature footbed structure.
The ground floor is dedicated to the Care Essentials range, where customers can trial foot and body care products. The second floor presents the full footwear assortment, including core sandal silhouettes, as well as clogs, shoes and boots, alongside recent seasonal additions.
