The membership warehouse club has kicked off its Texas operations with the opening of its first-ever store in the Lone Star State, in Forney, which is in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The new location is BJ’s 264th club overall (and 202nd gas station). The company plans to open three more stores in Texas in the coming weeks – in Waxahachie, Southwest Fort Worth and Grand Prairie. On BJ’s earnings call in March, executives said the company remained on track to deliver its commitment of 25 to 30 new clubs over 2025 and 2026 and that it expected this pace of openings to continue over the coming years.
In January, BJ’s opened its second location under the BJ’s Market banner, in Delray Beach, Florida. At 55,000sq ft, the store is about half the size of a BJ’s club. Other January openings included a location in Chattanooga, Tennessee, marking its sixth location in the state.
“BJ’s Wholesale Club has been delivering unbeatable value and convenience to members for over 40 years,” said Bob Eddy, Chairman and CEO, BJ’s Wholesale Club. “Launching our Texas operations is a milestone for our company and we know our model of saving up to 25 per cent off grocery store prices every day will resonate with families in Forney and across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.”
