Spanish cooperative Coviran opened five new supermarkets in Portugal since January, in the districts of Castelo Branco, Guarda and Porto. Four of the stores were opened by retail partner Carlos Alfredo Calda, operating under the commercial name of Supermercado Volta do Celeiro.
Two of Calda’s outlets are in Castelo Branco, of which one is in Proença-a-Nova, with a sales area of 100 square metres, and the other in Castelo Branco, with a sales area of 90 square metres. The other two stores are located in Guarda, one of them in the village of Vila Franca das Naves (110 square metres) and Manteigas (192 square metres).
The fifth new opening is operated by Susana Cristina Barbosa, who opened the second Coviran supermarket (100 square metres) under the Carina Barbosa Unipessoal banner in Penafiel, a district of Porto. She already operates a Coviran supermarket in Baltar near Porto.
