Diptyque Unveils New Hong Kong Flagship

By giving pride of place to its roving imagination and expression to the know-how at the origin of the pieces created by the Maison, the 100sq mspace over two floors captures the originality and poetry that have characterised Diptyque since its inception.

Located at the corner of Hollywood Road and Peel Street, the boutique makes an immediate impression with its two-tier green façade in harmony with the building’s distinctive asymmetrical architecture. Upstairs, the panoramic window frames a vibrant animated neon installation by artist Jive Lau, offering a striking counterpoint to the cityscape while teasing views of the interior.

From the outside and once past the bespoke mosaic, the boutique reveals a world of its own, where the charm of Parisian interiors meets the decorative traditions of 1970s and 1980s Hong Kong. Mouldings and alcoves characteristic of Haussmannian apartments blend seamlessly with traditional craftsmanship, neon lighting and a galvanised metal ceiling, subtly evoking the doors of the neighbourhood’s antique shops. Its sophisticated and eclectic mix of Emperador marble mosaic floor with a floral motif inspired by native plants, wooden furnishings and colourful walls makes entering this boutique feel like stepping into the home of a collector and a cabinet of curiosities.

A large wooden island at the centre of the ground floor anchors the space and immediately captures the attention. Presenting a specially curated selection of creations, it subtly conceals the Art of Gifting area glimpsed from the boutique’s side window, while leading the eye toward a row of wall niches opposite the entrance, where the décor and fragrance collections are displayed. At the back right, a staircase finished in skai leather, surmounted by a Murano glass chandelier, leads to the upper level. Here, set directly in the visitor’s line of sight, a neon installation brings the window to life, partially revealed behind an oak bookcase showcasing the home collections and Les Mondes de Diptyque – a collection of candles that subtly evoke secret places in a captivating blend of nature and culture. To the left of the long central green-and-black lacquered feature table, a pair of wall alcoves frames the herbarium and the candle collection. To the right, the Les Essences de Diptyque collection is presented on a wooden cabinet crowned with a series of shelves, while at the rear, arranged like a separate room, the Art of Body Care area is enveloped in a Redfield and Dattner fresco inspired by the surrounding landscape and architecture, in a subtle dialogue with the window installation. Two lacquered wooden cabinets, topped with oval mirrors, display a bold graphic motif that echoes the tiles of the city’s metro stations. Resting on the low cabinet, a long tiered stainless steel plinth showcases the perfume collection opposite a vintage Henning Korch sofa and wooden tables with mirrored accents, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
