Ebay’s Retail Revival delivers £2m in sales for small retailers

Ebay has revealed that its Retail Revival partnership with Wolverhampton Council has delivered over £2 million in sales at its sixth month mark.

The partnership – which will run until at least September 2019 – aims to support smaller retailers into growing their business online, and the 64 retailers that have taken part said they experienced an average growth of 36 per cent in year-on-year revenue since joining in 2018. Retail Revival also revealed that 46 per cent of participants are either expanding or planning to expand their physical presence, while 42 per cent have recruited new staff.

Moreover, 100 per cent of businesses reported feeling positive about their prospects on the platform – an increase from 35 per cent when the scheme was initially announced. Research conducted by Development Economics revealed that 25 per cent of small UK retailers do not have an online presence when making sales.
