The brand has entered Spain through a franchise model, in partnership with the consulting firm Barbadillo y Asociados, with an initial investment starting at €100,000.
The French fashion chain Grain de Malice has launched its physical presence in the Spanish market after being available in Spain since 2024 through its online channel.
“Spain is a strategic market for Grain de Malice due to its alignment with our positioning and the potential of the women’s fashion retail sector,” explained the French company, noting that the main objective is “to build a solid network of affiliates who share a vision of accessible, comfortable and customer-focused fashion”.
The expansion plan envisions a gradual rollout of stores of approximately 100sq m in the country’s main cities, based on a commission-affiliate model whereby the operator does not purchase the stock and in addition, receives a percentage of sales, thus reducing investment and risk. In these stores, the brand will sell a selection of its women’s ready-to-wear collections, primarily aimed at women over 35, with a focus on comfort and a flattering fit for different body types.
Founded in 2007, the French brand is part of the Ephigea group and has more than 230 points of sale in Europe, primarily located in its home country. According to its latest published figures, Grain de Malice closed its 2024 fiscal year with a turnover of €142M, an 11 per cent increase compared to the previous year.
