The Hello Kitty-inspired street festival was developed in partnership with Sanrio and includes an outdoor art gallery.
Available until April 29, the festival has transformed Sydney’s Darling Square into Hello Kitty Town – an outdoor art gallery with themed-exhibitions, installations and F&B. It also includes an art gallery featuring works by graphic designers, illustrators and street artists.
These works includes pieces from Melbourne-based artist and designer Bei Badgirl, illustrator Lauren Carney, graphic designer and illustrator Steph Cartledge, UK cartoonist, writer and illustrator Gemma Correll, and Berlin-based artist and illustrator DXTR.
Other artists that are showcased include Justine McAllister, George Rose, Travis Price, Sahil Roy, Sofles and Mel Stringer with highlights including an enormous Hello Kitty inflatable.
The festivals food and beverage offering includes Darling Square’s restaurants who are serving up more than 30 Hello Kitty-inspired dishes, with Ume Burgerboasting a Bad Badtz-Maru cheeseburger and Toastie Smith selling a limited edition toastie with Hello Kitty-style ham bows.
