Indoor Surf Park to Open in Dubai

Surfbase Dubai has opened its fourth investment round as it looks to capitalise on what it sees as a gap in the city’s sports and leisure offering.

Dubai could get its first indoor surf park as Surfbase launches a new investment round to fund a large-scale artificial wave and lifestyle destination in the emirate.

Surfbase Dubai is pitching itself as the region’s first indoor surf and wellness hub, combining wave technology with training facilities, fitness, retail, food and beverage and community-focused experiences – all under one roof. It is a huge boost for the tourism industry which is facing a level of uncertainty due to the Iran conflict and a drop in visitors.

The company has now opened its fourth investment round, with a minimum ticket size of $100,000, as it looks to capitalise on what it sees as a gap in Dubai’s sports and leisure offering.

According to its project teaser, the total investment required stands at approximately $13.45M, with funds earmarked for wave pool systems, thermal wellness facilities, construction and pre-launch operations.

“There has been a boom in the construction of artificial surfing waves around the world. Even Abu Dhabi has built a Kelly Slater wave,” Vasily Prachev, CEO of Surfbase, wrote on its website.
