Katy’s growing Asian food scene will get another boost when the New York-based Eight Turn Crepe opens its sweet and savory Japanese crepes brand on Saturday, March 23 at 23119 Colonial Parkway.
The crepes, made with a rice flour batter, are fashioned into hand-held cones filled with fruits and sweet fillings or with salad, omelet or yogurt. The menu’s sweet crepe options include banana, nuts and chocolate; strawberry and banana; Fuji apple with walnuts and whipped yogurt; fruit cocktail with custard and yogurt; lychee with raspberries and rose custard cream; matcha chocolate and strawberries; blueberry cheesecake; azuki beans and green matcha gelato; and chocolate and nuts with vanilla gelato and chocolate custard cream.
Salad crepes include edamame and tofu with vegetables and hard-boiled egg; tuna Nicoise; shrimp and avocado with Thai chili sauce; seaweed sesame; Thai chicken; and goat cheese, spring greens and strawberries. Savory options include truffled egg white omelet with mushrooms and spinach; lox and cream cheese with spinach; and turkey and asparagus with sesame dressing.
