Maison Dali Opens in Dubai

Dubai has a new high-end, high-concept restaurant – Maison Dali. The venue, from chef Tristin Farmer, is now open at The Opus in Business Bay.

Inspired by the surrealist artist Salvador Dali, it promises a “Mediterranean-Japanese brasserie experience”.

Farmer is culinary director and partner at Culinary Arts Group, which has also opened Jitin Joshi’s Revolver in the same location. He previously worked at Jason Atherton’s now-closed Marina Social in Dubai, where he led the kitchen, before moving to Singapore to head up Bjorn Frantzen’s Zen. The restaurant earned three Michelin stars under his watch.

The menu at Maison Dali uses fermented ingredients and umami-forward flavour profiles with open fire cooking and on-site dry aging. Dishes include king crab ceviche with fermented pineapple, trout roe and tarragon; smoked lobster donabe with sansho and black truffle and wood-fired duck with hoisin sauce and plum kosho.

The restaurant was designed by Dubai’s YDesign and features eye-catching decor, mood-setting lighting and playful art elements. There’s an outdoor terrace and a private dining room for 12, too, while a secret supper club experienced will be revealed soon.
