Mamas & Papas closing stores as part of pre-pack administration

The retailer, Mamas & Papas has entered into administration and has closed six stores. The move has resulted in a total of 73 staff members being made redundant and comes just after the recent collapse of fellow baby products retailer Mothercare.

Mamas & Papas said it will also be reviewing and simplifying operations at its head office in Huddersfield and that this could lead to a further 54 redundancies. The stores that closed are; Aberdeen, Fareham, Leamington, Lilncon, Milton Keynes and Preston. However the company’s online business and remaining stores will continue to trade as normal.

‘These actions are always difficult but they are also necessary in a challenging market to ensure Mamas & Papas achieves its considerable future potential.’ – Richard Cincotta, Executive Chairman – Mamas & Papas
