East Knoxville is getting another grocery store option near Knoxville Center Mall. An Aldi is now under construction at 5416 Millertown Pike across from ORNL Federal Credit Union and Food City near the intersection of Loves Creek.

The 2.21 acres were purchased by SBT Millertown LLC in December 2018 for about $760,000. There are Aldi locations in Bearden, Halls, Powell and Cedar Springs. The Halls location was remodeled in 2017 and added about 2,000 square feet of selling space. The new design included wider aisles, more natural light and environmentally friendly building materials.
