Manchester movie fans are spoilt for choice these days. In addition to HOME and the brand new ‘mini cini’ at Cultureplex, Northern film fanatics are about to be treated to a brand new Everyman Cinema smack-bang in the City Centre. Joining its popular Altrincham counterpart, Manchester’s second Everyman Cinema opened on Thursday 31 October 2019 at a new St John’s Street location.
This 11,000 sq ft new addition to the city will boast three screens (one 151 seater, one 87 seater and one cosy 26 seater) alongside a bar and lounge space that will feature appropriately named menu items like Spielburgers alongside sundaes and cocktails. This boutique cinema boasts comfy sofas in every screen and aim to show a selection of independent, mainstream and classic movies, alongside occasional satellite broadcast events. To start with though, the venue plans to screen Todd Phillips’ Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix and showed a special Halloween screening of The Exorcist both on its opening night.
