The opening date has been set for a £2.1 million Lincolnshire Co-op food store and pharmacy in Hykeham which will create 15 new jobs.
The newly-built food store on Newark Road will open on Thursday, March 21. It will provide a range of services including an in-store bakery, takeaway Costa Coffee, hot food-to-go, convenient meal options, products from the Love Local range and a selection of chilled beers and wines.
It will also house Lincolnshire Co-op’s pharmacy and podiatry service which will move from its current location further along Newark Road. There will be a more accessible private consultation room and a bigger dispensary inside the new pharmacy.
There will also be a 21-space car park including two disabled spaces. The shop on Newark Road sits on a site which was previously a used car dealership and was bought by the society after the business owners took the decision to retire. Food Store Manager Adam Waddingham said: “It’s exciting to be opening a new food store to provide valued services to people in and around Hykeham. We’re all eager to welcome people in and get started.”
