Hyatt will redevelop the South Congress Hotel in Austin, reopening in 2027 as The Standard and the brand’s first US opening in more than a decade.
Hyatt and Timberline Real Estate are partners on the project. Design will be led by Austin-based Michael Hsu with interiors by Goodrich Design and The Standard’s Verena Haller-headed team.
Hyatt said The Standard Austin will function as an evolving “campus of ideas”. Social wellness experiences, a rooftop pool and restaurants and bars will all feature in the hotel.
