Yum China is accelerating the rollout of its light-meal concept Kpro in China after the brand surpassed 300 locations nationwide.
The company said Kpro is on track to reach 600 stores by the end of this year, up from more than 200 last year, reflecting growing demand for healthier, affordable meal options in the Chinese market.
Operated alongside KFC restaurants, Kpro offers a menu focused on balanced nutrition, including multigrain energy bowls, yogurt smoothies and whole-wheat sandwiches.
According to Yum China, Kpro’s side-by-side operating model allows the business to leverage KFC’s existing store network, membership base and supply chain while maintaining lower investment and operating costs than standalone formats.
Kpro’s expansion will focus on tier-one, tier-two and selected tier-three cities, particularly in eastern and southern China, where demand for light meals is stronger.
Last month, Yum China reported a record-breaking first quarter for FY26 with 636 net new store openings.
