The brand has opened a new three-storey flagship store in Tokyo at Aoyama where it carries men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, bags, shoes, jewellery pieces and eyewear.
The brand’s Creative Director Jonny Johansson collaborated with Halleröd, a Stockholm-based interior design firm and longtime collaborator, to create a store backdrop that is in the Swedish brand’s signature pink granite, captured by walls, flooring, some furnishings and fixtures and all playfully paired with highly artistic sofas, obviously crafted in matching pink leather and fabric by London-based Max Lamb and contrasting sleek light fixtures by Benoît Lalloz, a designer and artist based in Paris.
Further boosting the store’s artistic vibe is Johansson’s collaboration with Japanese ceramicist Takuro Kuwata, which has not only resulted in colour-infused ceramic objects on display in the store’s basement, but also him creating a capsule collection of reinterpreted Acne Studios pieces which includes denim pieces, bags and small leather goods.
