Launched in New York, it marks the first step in the denim-rooted luxury men’s and women’s clothing brand’s entry into the American market.
The store, spanning over 4,300sq ft and located on Madison Avenue at 67th Street, was designed by Jennifer Tommasi Bardelle, President and Creative Director of Jacob Cohën, to provide a window into the world of Jacob Cohën and its lifestyle.
Exuding sophisticated elegance and Italian style, the boutique extends over two levels. The ground floor hosts the women’s collections amidst wood panelling completely upholstered in cognac-coloured leather and luxurious velvets, smooth or finely ribbed, on the floors, walls and rugs. The warm materials are extremely tactile, creating a homey feel. And then there’s the ever-present denim, the brand’s signature fabric. It covers panels, seats, mirror frames and ottomans, the latter also available in leather, in the fitting rooms, contrasting with the romantic touch of specially designed floral wallpaper featuring the Jacob Cohën logo.
“The opening of our first flagship in the US is a very important milestone for us. It means competing in the home market of denim,” says Jennifer Tommasi Bardelle. “For me, all our stores should be meeting places before being places of sale. I envisioned the New York store as a salon of sophisticated elegance, rigorously Made in Italy like all Jacob Cohën garments, where our men’s and women’s collections could become pieces of furniture, to be admired before being worn.”
The new Jacob Cohën flagship will be officially inaugurated on 27 October with a dedicated event.
