The online retail gaint, Amazon is set to create 2000 new jobs this year in the UK. Which will bring the total permanent UK workforce to 30,000 people. The new roles will be spread around the country, from the head office in London and a new corporate office in Manchester.
The online retail giant said it would create a number of high-skilled positions for engineers, software developers, data scientists and cloud and machine learning experts.
The new jobs are in addition to Amazon’s commitment to create more than 1000 new UK apprenticeships over the next two years, which was announced in February. However, it is still lower than last year’s total of 2500 new jobs, and well below 2017 when the opening of a new head office helped to add 5000 roles.
