The Royal Hideaway Hotel Canfranc Estación, an almost century-old station that has been renovated and will be operated by Barceló Hotel Group.

Initially inaugurated by Alfonso XIII in 1928, the site has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest, however it will now no longer be used by trains but by customers as a hotel in the next few weeks. Although Barceló will operate and manage the hotel location, it still belongs to the government of Aragaon, which has invested a total of 15.3M euros in the rehabilitation of the building since 2016.

The hotel will feature 104 rooms, including four luxury suites on the first and second floor. The F&B offering will be managed by Eduardo Salanova and Ana Acin which are the hotel group’s gastronomic directors, and it will consist of three restaurants and two bars. The restaurants will be installed in two carriages that have been renovated in the classic style of 20th century trains.

The reception, open to the general public, will be located in the historic hall of the station and the ground floor will also include a wellness area with a heated pool and a library.
