Something wicked is coming to Dubai – literally. And in this upcoming modern Mexican eatery’s sense of the term, it means ‘wicked cool’. New rooftop restaurant and bar CHINGÓN (which translates to wicked, cool, epic) is set to open its doors at the Grand Millennium Hotel in Business Bay soon. And it aims to offer a ‘farm to table’ Mexican foodie experience, and more.
Paying homage to its roots, the venue’s interiors will paint a story of Mexican heritage, along with floor-to-ceiling windows boastings views of the Dubai Canal. There will even be a high ceiling that retracts and opens up for a view of the night sky during the winter months.
As for what’s on the menu, foodies can expect a raw bar with a Mexican twist, a selection of dishes including seafood tostadas and tiraditos, traditional tamales, grilled octopus and whole roasted baby chicken, as well as a healthy selection of both vegan and vegetarian options.
The eatery also offers the gold treatment with a specially curated taco menu featuring its signature ‘Taco El Dorado.’ A black corn tortilla that is pressed with 24k gold leaf, with a thick slice of ‘A9 wagyu’ and finished with fresh truffle. Fancy. The venue will also have a specially curated mixed drinks menu, with drinks inspired by the ancient empires of Mesoamerica and South America.
“The concept was born out of a desire to provide people with an original space offering great food and an ambiance that they would want to hang out at,” said CHINGÓN co-founder Mark Eggberry.
Garth Beer adds: “All three of us are passionate about eating, music and providing our guests with an experience unlike any other. From the quality of our food and beverage menus to the service, musical entertainment and interior design, every detail has been meticulously executed to ensure that we have an amazing canvas to express all the things we love for others to enjoy too.”
The official opening date has yet to be announced.
