Casablanca Opens First Boutique

Casablanca is taking a step forward, which it describes as “decisive”, with the opening of its first physical boutique.

The brand, launched in 2018 by Franco-Moroccan designer Charaf Tajer, has chosen Paris as its location, where it has been showing since January 2019 and has established itself among the new names in high-end ready-to-wear. More specifically, it is setting up shop in the luxury district, on Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré.

It is opening its flagship store in the less central part of the prestigious thoroughfare, at number 62, which forms the corner of Rue d’Aguesseau. The nearly 460sq m space, which was previously occupied by an art gallery, is spread over three levels. It was designed by stylist Charaf Tajer and the brand’s artistic director Steve Grimes, in collaboration with the London-based design studio Counterfeit Studio and the Moroccan architectural firm Elements Lab, reflecting “a fusion of past and future, between Parisian elegance, cinematic references and a bold vision looking to the future”, according to a press release.

Originally focused on menswear, the house, renowned for its ultra-chic pieces with vibrant prints and beautiful materials, borrowing from both the world of sport, particularly tennis and retro glamour, quickly added women’s ready-to-wear, also enriching its offering with multiple categories of accessories (leather goods, shoes, sneakers, glasses, jewellery, scarves, socks, hats). All these categories are offered in the store, arranged on each level according to the different universes of Casablanca.
