Following the opening of 22 Pro Shop spaces in its Spanish stores, Decathlon continues to consolidate its position nationwide with the opening of a new store in the Tenerife municipality of Adeje.
The French clothing and sporting goods chain is strengthening its presence in the Canary Islands market. “We opened our doors with the aim of being the go-to store for all residents of southern Tenerife, as well as for those visiting Tenerife eager to enjoy sports, offering a range tailored to the needs and demands of local athletes,” explained Fernando García, Director of Decathlon in the Tenerife municipality.
Located in the Adeje Shopping Park, the new store has a total area of 4,000sq m, where the company sells a variety of products for more than 40 categories, from mountain activities and water sports to running, padel tennis and cycling.
As part of the French company’s commitment to sustainability, the store has been designed with LED lighting and water control systems. It also offers a series of services linked to circularity, such as its “Second Life” secondhand sporting goods sales area and even a sporting goods rental area.
With this new location, Decathlon expands its presence in Tenerife, where it currently operates three stores, along with its stores located on Castillo Street in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and in La Laguna. In the Canary Islands, the chain has a retail network of six points of sale, with two stores in Gran Canaria and one in Lanzarote.
