Depressed Rich Kids Opens in Seoul

French high-end creative brand Enfants Riches Déprimés has announced the opening of its first-ever boutique in Asia, choosing the South Korean capital of Seoul to make its regional debut.

Based in Seoul’s Dosan district, the new Enfants Riches Déprimés boutique spans two floors and was designed by the Paris-based brand’s Founder and Creative Director, Henri Alexander Levy, in partnership with architecture firm Fearon Hay, with landscaping by Case Charles Fleher.

Located next to French luxury giant Hermès, the new boutique is housed in a temple-inspired building that evokes neoclassical architecture. From the outside, the facade consists of floor-to-ceiling windows inspired by rationalism. Inside, the surfaces are clad in concrete and reclaimed wood from dismantled Korean structures.

Two “Verifax” collages by Wallace Berman in a monumental, church-like concrete staircase connect the two floors. The upper floor is furnished with a pair of mahogany and brass club chairs by Gustave Serrurier-Bovy and a daybed by Jean Prouvé.

The opening of the Enfants Riches Déprimés boutique in Seoul marks the label’s expansion into Asia. The brand is currently distributed through a network of more than 80 luxury retail partners worldwide. It has had a boutique in Paris, on Rue Charlot, in the Marais, since 2019. In 2024, its founder added a bookstore called “Anti Public Library”.
